Writing was a solitary affair for me most of my life. Having probably ADHD (not officially diagnozed), it is hard for me to stay on track for long enough to finish an entire novel. This is still a problem but that is a different matter. I don't remember exactly how but I found a wonderful community on youtube with lots of writers encouraging each other to write. Given my situation, that appealed to me.
It was during those streams that I heard of NaNoWriMo for the first time. It wasn't a big part of my life and frankly my only participation was to use the word count tracker on their website. But I understand it was so much more for many writers and I sympathize with all those who will miss it. Of course, it's only the official organization that is gone, nothing will stop you from writing 50,000 words next November.
Writingstreams.com aims to provide solutions and be an important part of the writing community. As such, I am considering whether I should create my own word count tracker to replace NaNoWriMo's. Kilby, the organization's spokesperson, said in her youtube video: "we will keep our websites up for as long as possible." No exact date was given.
Would you be interested in me making a new website with a word count tracker? Are there other features you would like to see on writingstreams.com? These may or may not be related to NaNoWriMo. Below is a form where you may express what you would like to see. I will read and consider every suggestion. I cannot make promises however.
Happy writing and thanks for your feedback
